Ghost mannequin editing

Shoot the garment on a mannequin, so it keeps its shape. We take the mannequin out, put back the inside of the neck and the cuffs where the form was, and cut it out on white – the invisible-mannequin finish marketplaces and fashion sites use.

One photograph back within 24 hours, free. No card, nothing to join.

What we do

Mannequin out

The form, its stand and its arms taken out, the garment kept in the shape the mannequin gave it.

The inside put back

The back of the neck and the inside of the collar shown where the mannequin was, so the garment reads as worn.

Studio out

Curtains, the light tent, clamps and the edge of the backdrop taken out, cut out on white with clean edges.

A matched set

Front, back and side views of a range aligned and sized the same, ready for the listing.

Questions

How do I shoot for a ghost mannequin finish?

Dress a mannequin, square on, in soft even light, and shoot the front and the back from the same spot. If you can, add a shot of the inside of the neck with the garment turned round.

How much is a ghost mannequin edit?

It is a composite: $3.99 a photograph, including the cut out and the retouch.

Can you do it from a flat lay or a hanger?

Send it and ask: a garment that never had a form inside it may not have the shape to show, and we would rather say so than invent one.

Shot it yourself? Send us the one you like least.

Upload one photograph and we send it back finished within 24 hours, with a note on what we did, at no charge. No card, nothing to join.
