About Picarm

Picarm is a product image editing service for e-commerce brands and the photographers who shoot for them. You upload your photos, choose the edits image by image, see the price while you are setting the job up, and get finished files back in the formats you need.

Why we built it

Product post-production is usually bought the slow way. You email a studio, describe what you want in prose, wait for a quote, wait again for the work, then start another email thread about the three images that came back wrong. None of that is editing. It is all overhead, and it is the reason a job that takes an afternoon of actual work can take a week to land.

Picarm exists to remove that overhead. Two things change. The price is visible while you configure the job rather than after you ask for it, so you can decide whether an edit is worth it before you commit. And the brief travels attached to the photo rather than in a covering email, so the person editing your image is looking at your instructions and your image at the same time.

How it works

You set each photo up individually. Choose the services you want on it, adjust the options, and the running total updates as you go. You do not need an account to get that far. Open the editor, drop photos in, and price the job up. Your work stays on your device until you decide to check out.

If describing an edit in words is awkward, draw it. The sharpie tool lets you mark up the photo itself to point at the exact area you mean.

Your images are edited by human editors working to the brief your option choices generate. Before any order is released to you, it passes an internal quality review, image by image. Anything that does not meet the brief goes back to the editing team rather than to you.

When the order does reach you, nothing is final until you say so. Review every photo at full resolution, request changes on any of them, and approve when you are happy. Requesting changes puts the image back through editing and back through the same quality check.

What we cover

Twelve services, covering product photography post-production end to end: Background Removal, Clipping Path, Colour Change, Retouching (Standard and Advanced), Ghost Mannequin, Manipulation, Shadow, Levels, Straightening, Centering, Resizing, and custom file types including PSD and TIFF. Every photo in an order can have its own settings, so a single order can mix background removal on some images, ghost mannequin on others and retouching on the rest.

We specialise in product photography and we are set up for products specifically. Portraits, pets, weddings and events are not what this service is built for, and we would rather say so than take the job and disappoint you.
